Using our self-powered speakers with a power amplifier or receiver.

All Edifier and Airpulse speakers are self-powered, with the only exception of the P-series such as P12 and P17.

1. If you are using a set of our powered speakers you cannot connect them to a powered amplifier as this will cause damage to the speaker’s internal amplifier. We do have non-powered speaker models that can be connected to a power amplifier, or directly to the amplified outputs of a receiver. Check out these options:

2. There are two ways to use our powered speakers with a receiver:
If the receiver has a Line output, or a pre-amp output, you can connect the speakers to these outputs, as they are sending a pre-amplified signal, and not an amplified signal. *Always check with the owner’s manual, or the product manufacturer to make sure this is a pre-amp output before connecting.
